Good luck getting your deposit back. It’s been 4 months since we moved out, endless amounts of phone calls. No one ever seems to answer the phone. When you do get a hold of someone, they give you the runaround and tell you someone will call back with a status update. Have yet to have someone call me back and keep their word.
New management just took over and is really taking the time and energy to get all our concerns addressed. This is a beautiful property and a great place to live when properly managed.
I've been here going on 2 years and I gotta say.. TOP NOTCH management!!! Any Issues are addressed immediately or lastest following day. This place can feel like you are living in a Resort. Gabe the Service Supervisor is not only the Most Friendly, Caring, Professional, Happy, Inspirational human being. He's consistently exceeds expectations, He also Leads a terrific Crew yeaa Doug, Susan and Howard!! They have me personally out of a few Jams I'm sure on off time, instead of I'll get back to you the next business day lol. The Management team, Getting it Done all day every day. Quick response to any emails. I have seen the Bull!@$#%$ they deal with from overly rude and almost abusive college kids. They still remain Professional and Kind and that takes a Very patient, professional A+ kinda leader!! You can tell they Hire Leaders, not managers as They all lead by example and don't put things on someone, cause it's not their job. Thank You Lindsey, Eli and Noah!! You walk the walk of a true inspiring leader for your employees. Seriously Excellent Job Team, this is why I stay here and pay rent and keep putting off buying!! Your Hard work and going above and Beyond what's necessary is NOTICED.
These are beautiful apartments! Leeanna was so helpful in this apartment hunt. Moving from out of state can be pretty overwhelming and she made the process simple and easy. These are definitely top notch apartments, I recommend Vela on Camelback to anyone searching for a great place in Phoenix. I love there amenities such as a the pool, gym, and dog run all of which I've found to be very clean and well kept. 5/5 stars, highly recommend!
We bought out of our lease in our second year due to ongoing health and safety concerns surrounding this apartment complex. We had been loyal tenants since the opening of the complex and had lived there since the construction phase in early 2018 (under management by Alta). However, since moving in we had lived down the hall from a murder, experienced numerous bikes and property stolen including our own patio furniture, witnessed police chasing criminals across our patio, saw police helicopters shining spotlights in our windows on a monthly basis, and observed drug use from nearby residents. It had also recently come to our attention that other residents had been listing numerous units on Airbnb. There is no way to verify the backgrounds of the individuals renting those units and many problems arose for the tenants living near them (noise, vandalism, robbery, etc). Campus security was non-existent when you actually needed assistance. The campus security merely acted as a false sense of security and appeared to do little more than issue noise complaints to loud residents at the pool. The Vela staff commented on another review that they will tow cars without a permit, but this is utterly untrue. I paid a premium to have a reserved spot in the parking garage and spent months dealing with people parking in my spot without repercussion and without any sympathy from the management. They had no plan in place to have cars towed. If you call the tow company, they will tell you only the property manager can have cars towed, but they only work until 5pm so anyone can feel free to park without a permit after those hours. Also, if you get off work after 5pm, then expect to park on the roof because the parking garage is at max capacity. The amount of animal feces inside and outside public areas of the apartment complex poses a health risk to everyone living there. This issue had been ongoing since we moved in, but had come to an extreme in the past several months of living there. I have even seen feces with live worms crawling in them, which is not only disgusting but could have made my own dog extremely ill if accidentally ingested. Upon moving out, we spent several days cleaning the place spotless. Even the inside of the oven was shining. The corrupt owners here managed to squeeze every last dollar out of our security deposit by charging us over $300 to paint our apartment to get it ready for the new tenants. I have never had a landlord charge for painting as this cost is generally considered normal wear and tear and is covered by the property owners. I've lived in many apartments in the past and have never had such a bad experience that it made me want to leave a poor review. Maybe I expected too much because they advertise themselves as a "luxury" apartment complex. I would look elsewhere. Even if the poor management here cleans up their act, the building is located on the border of a dangerous area and has become a beacon for criminal activity due to its luxury status and non-existent security measures.
